The 'average' boot bag should fit under 'the seat in front of you'.
Sometimes, however, you may have to lay it on its side as boot height can
interfere with being able to simply slide it under.

They are often too 'fat' to stuff in the overhead. Not to mention, if you
have ever gotten biffed in the head by some 'gaper' trying to get his boots
out of the overhead, you'll know it's not the best practice. :)
